On November 14-15, 2024 headed by Board Member Ünal SADE, the HREIT (TİHEK) delegation conducted an unannounced visit to the Ereğli Y-Type Closed Penitentiary Institution as part of its national preventive mechanism duties.

As part of the visit, treatment and accommodation conditions of the detainees were examined in the context of national and international standards.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
