The European National Prevention Mechanisms (NPM) Conference was held on 5-6 October in Strasbourg, France. The Conference was organized within the scope of the "Space and European NPM Forum" project jointly carried out by the European Union and the Council of Europe. National Prevention Mechanisms of the European Union and the Council of Europe member states, as well as the Moroccan and Tunisian National Prevention Mechanisms and non-governmental organizations participated the Conferance.

At the Conference discussions regarding monitoring of the situation of vulnerable groups, especially children, elderly, women, minority groups and immigrants in detention centers were taken place, representatives of the Council of Europe, European Union Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA), Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT), various non-governmental organizations and national prevention mechanism shared their experience on the subject.
The representative of HREIT made a presentation at the Conference on the activities of HREIT for the protection and development of the rights of immigrants and refugees, the monitoring of places of detention, and the collaborations with non-governmental organizations for this purpose.
