Islamophobia is a form of racism and xenophobia caused by the misinformation, distrust, hatred, and fear felt toward Islam.

With anti-Islamic speeches, Muslim persons are associated with terrorism and can be perceived as a threat. Anti-Islamic speeches and behaviors target Muslim persons and communities, their sacred places such as mosques, places of prayer, and graveyards, homes, schools, and institutions of Muslim persons.

Hate speeches aimed toward Muslim persons cause physical, mental, and emotional damage in individuals.

Hate speeches toward Muslims are on a rising trend in social media with text and visual posts. As a matter of fact, some populist politicians make statements which could be described as hate speech toward Muslims and behave to this effect.

In order to prevent the aforementioned statements and behaviors which result in violations of humans rights and are an attack to the universal values, and to strengthen the international efforts for the establishment of global peace, UN General Assembly designated March 15 as "International Day to Combat Islamophobia."

Modification efforts should be made at a universal level to combat policies, which are discriminatory to Muslim persons, racism and discrimination against Muslims.

It is necessary to take the necessary measures to prevent the attacks aimed toward Muslim persons for the establishment of universal peace.

Our Institution, main mission of which is to promote and protect human rights, prevent discrimination, and raise awareness on this issue is celebrating March 15 as International Day to Combat Islamophobia with the hope of a world where all prejudices and discriminations are no more.

Respectfully announced to the public.
