The HREIT delegation conducted an unannounced visit to Amasya E Type Closed Penal Institution as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on 10.11.2022 and 11.11.2022.

During the visit, information was first obtained from the authority of the center. Afterwards the delegation made observations and examinations by interviewing people who are deprived of their liberties and with the personnel in charge. As part of the visit, treatment and accommodation conditions of foreigners who are deprived of their liberties were examined in the context of national and international standards.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
