The HREIT delegation made an unannounced visit to the Erzincan T Type Closed Penitentiary Institution within the scope of National Preventive Mechanism mandate. The delegation was accompanied by a doctor and a psychologist.

The visit started with a preliminary meeting with the administration of the institution.. Individual and group interviews were held with the detainees. Inspections were made in the common living and accommodation areas. The treatment and accommodation conditions of the detainees were examined in the context of national and international standards.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations regarding the examinations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
