HREIT delegation made an unannounced visit to the Kavak Children and Youth Closed Penal Institution on 15 October 2024 within the scope of national preventive mechanism mandate.
Treatment and accommodation conditions of the detainees were evaluated in the context of national and international standards within the scope of the visit.
Following the visit and the interviews, a report including the findings and recommendations regarding the inspections and interviews will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
