The HREIT delegation conducted an unannounced monitoring visit to  Van Provincial Gendarmerie Command as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on 2/8/2023. 
During the visit, information was first obtained from the administrative authority of the Command. Treatment and accommodation conditions of the detainees were also examined in the context of national and international standards.
As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
