Israeli forces targeted the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital, the only cancer hospital in Gaza, on October 30, 2023. Israel continues its destructive and devastating acts of violence against the Palestinian people, which it has systematically carried out for years, making it difficult for them to access basic humanitarian needs by imposing a blockade. In Gaza, attacks on civilians are being carried out in front of the world, disregarding the principles and values of international human rights law and humanitarian law. Finally, the Israeli attack on the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital, whose coordinates were shared by Turkish officials, is a manifestation of a crime against humanity aimed at the destruction of the Palestinian people by committing genocide.

Israel's attacks targeting hospitals, medical facilities, healthcare personnel, and injured civilians are in violation of the Geneva Conventions that define the law of war.

As the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye, we condemn the systematic and suffocating attacks and actions against Palestinians in Gaza, which are in violation of humanitarian law and we call on states, international mechanisms, and the international community as a whole to take initiatives to put an end to this massacre.
